Collects
Last week, as you know, I was at Balliol College. One of our lectures was about Collects, given to us by Max Kramer, the Precentor of Canterbury Cathedral. He has just published a book of prayers and collects and I share one with you.
Lord, we pray that your Church may be a true home for all the people of the earth.
O Lord, you have called us into one body
to worship you in spirit and in truth.
Grant us your grace to live together
as brothers and sisters in Christ.
Take from us all hostility and lack of understanding,
that we may bear witness to the world
to that generous love you have revealed to us
in Jesus Christ our Lord.
