80th Anniversary of D-Day

Thursday 6th June 2024 marks the 80th anniversary of D-Day. Parishioners have been invited to light a Beacon at 9pm on that day – representing the “light of peace” that emerged from the darkness of war. Templeton has a brazier which was built by a local blacksmith to be used to commemorate the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, and this brazier may be used as a beacon to mark the D-Day anniversary.
