Calverleigh May Round Up 2023

Hallelujah! Christ has Risen. Hallelujah! How lovely it was to celebrate the rising of our Saviour Jesus Christ together, either on zoom or in person, and how grateful we were for the varying fellowship opportunities through Holy week and on Easter Sunday. Thank you Steph and Claire.

At last, the weather is settling down with warmer days and lighter evenings where we can venture into our gardens or further afield and enjoy the wonders of God’s creations.

Our Mothering Sunday service on 19 March was led by Jackie. Although held at an earlier time than usual, lots of you were able to join us at the service which gave us a chance to celebrate, not just our mothers, but grandmas, great-grandmas, aunties, and any other women who have been, or still are, a part of our lives. Jackie gave a thought-provoking talk, then handed out a posy and card to all ladies at the service – and passed on to some that couldn't make it in person too! Thank you to everyone who provided flowers for the day.

Donations of dried or tinned goods and toiletries were collected during Lent up until Palm Sunday and delivered to CHAT in time for the Easter weekend.  Thanks to all the very generous people that donated. A good selection of produce was handed over and CHAT were extremely grateful.

Our condolences, thoughts and prayers are with anyone who has lost a loved one, whether recently or longer ago. If you have been feeling under the weather lately we pray that you will soon be fit and well again.

As exam time approaches, we wish all those who are due to take GCSE’s, A levels or Degrees the very best.  We hope that revision time and your exams go well and are not too stressful.

Congratulations to anyone who is celebrating a significant birthday, anniversary, birth or any other significant life event. Happy Birthday to Elijah who celebrates his first birthday in May. We'd love to wish you a happy birthday too, but you didn't send us your details ;)
