Loxbeare Feb Round Up 2020

It is good in these cold, wintery uncertain & anxious times to see the first signs of spring with snowdrops & primroses beginning to flower.   Soon lots of lambs will hopefully be playing in the fields in the sunshine! to hear and see the birds & other wildlife. We are so thankful.

Our thoughts & prayers are with all who have lost loved ones, those who are unwell with the Covid virus, self-isolating or shielding. Many will be feeling anxious & lonely as we live through another lockdown. We also pray for all the children & young people who yet again have their education disrupted, for teachers & parents as they do their best with home schooling.  Also, we remember all the medical staff & care workers, many who put their own lives at risk.  We would like to thank all those who are again helping those in our communities with shopping, errands etc.  May the vaccines be successful in providing much needed protection.

We thank Steph for all her prayers & hard work within the parishes & for organising the nativity trail which has produced much interest.  We pray God will continue to keep her & Rob safe & give guidance for the future.

We thank those who produced some lovely pictures for the nativity trail.  At Loxbeare they were Evie, Ellie & Bobby Heywood, Freya & Jezimae Partridge, and adults - Margaret Tidball, Steven Perry, Wendy Crook & Richard Vickery.  Well done!!

Our Carol Service on the 20 December was cancelled, but Steph led the group communion service on 3 January.

As carol singing could not take place many people gave donations anyway.  Steven Berry & Richard Heywood helping people with various jobs & kindly donated the money to the two charities - Cancer Research & Childrens Hospice S.W. Thank you so much to them and all who donated.  Altogether Jackie has received a great total of £410.  We would like to take this opportunity to thank Jackie for all her work in administering the monies & sending off to the various charities for many years.  Thank you so much Jackie.

In the last magazine we thanked all who had helped in any way to keeping the Church & Churchyard clean & tidy and we would also like to thank Bob & Steve Berry for doing an excellent job in cutting the grass & keeping it looking so good throughout the year.  For Steve & Richard Heywood for removing the moss on the paths & cleaning the guttering.

We pray for Steven Radford awaiting hospital appointments and anyone else who is feeling unwell &/or receiving treatment.

Happy Birthday to all with birthdays in February/March & congratulations to all celebrating, albeit very restricted, special occasions.
Keep safe & well & may we all look after & encourage each other, if only a few telephone calls! Let's hope & pray that the situation will soon begin to improve.
